Thagard Student Health Center, Florida State University's fully accredited primary care facility, provides medical care and outreach programs through a team of dedicated professionals. As a student-focused, student-friendly center, its mission is to advance the quality of life for university students,improving academic performance and increasing retention. Thagard Student Health Center works in conjunction with many university departments, but is part of the Division of Student Affairs to maintain our focus and attention on serving students.

We bill all insurances. We are currently contracted providers with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Humana and United. We are working on becoming contracted providers with Cigna and VISTA.

Welcome orientation parents and students. Please remember to fax in your completed health history form and complete your online insurance waiver/purchase prior to your arrival at FSU. This will help prevent any delays in registering for classes. PLEASE DO NOT FAX OR MAIL COPIES OF YOUR INSURANCE CARD.

  • Monday-Friday: 8AM-4PM
  • Saturday - Sunday: CLOSED

Important Dates to Remember:

  • Classes Begin: May 14th
  • Open Enrollment for Summer-ONLY Health Insurance Ends: May 13th
  • Summer Term Ends: August 10th
  • Commencement: August 11th

Holidays

  • May 28th (Memorial Day): Closed
  • July 4th: Closed

After Hours & Emergencies

  • ALWAYS call 911 in the case of a life-threatening emergency
  • Click here to view our After Hours Brochure, which has directions to local hospitals and contact information for Urgent Care and Walk-in clinics
  • For after-hours care, you may visit: any walk-in clinic, Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, or Capital Regional Medical Center. Call 911 in an emergency. The cost of care at an outside facility is not covered by your student health fee.
